XGIMI HORIZON Ultra Updated OTA Brings Several Improvements

Introduction

We're humbled by the numerous compliments and feedback we've received from all of you on our latest 4K flagship, the HORIZON Ultra. We genuinely appreciate the time you've spent exploring our product and the insights we've gained from you!

We’ve received some feedback regarding the HORIZON Ultra settings that might cause some confusion, so we pushed out an OTA that: significantly simplifies the menu logic, enhances all picture modes, and further elevates the Dolby Vision viewing experience. The OTA released on Sep.23, and we recorded a real-life test video in our test room to show you the improvements. Please see the details below:

1. Picture mode setting updates

Under the current software version, some picture modes tuned down the brightness to optimize for better color accuracy. After receiving the users’ feedback, we turn up the brightness by default for specific modes per users’ preference and make it much easier to navigate in the menu to adjust the brightness if you prefer.

2. Contrast ratio clarification

The contrast ratio ranges from 350:1 to 950:1 on average, as you can see from the real-time test video we conducted below. We will continue to tune and launch OTA in the near future to push for a better viewing experience.

3. Color accuracy setting update

XGIMI HORIZON Ultra has top-notch color accuracy with a ΔE ≈ 1. With our upcoming OTA, we added a new “High Color Accuracy Setting” in the menu, so that you can turn it on instantly for maximized color accuracy if you would like to.

4. Gaming mode clarification

Under the gaming mode, the latency is as low as 18ms. You can also see it from the test video we conducted here.

5. Dolby Vision enhancements

After the update, upon detecting a Dolby Vision video, the projector will more seamlessly auto-adjust for an optimal viewing experience.
